How to Manage AppStore Subscriptions

There are many interesting applications on the App Store that are so inviting to subscribe to nowadays. Those apps could be iTunes, Magazine, News, or any other music streaming services. With so many apps, sometimes it can be hard to keep up with the subscriptions and payments. However, this article will be showing you how to easily manage your subscriptions through Apple devices, such as macOS, iPhone, and Apple Watch.

How to Manage Your Subscription on Your MacOS

Managing your subscription can be easily done by going to the App Store on your Mac device. Sign in to your Apple account if you haven’t done it already. Then, simply click on your profile picture or your name at the bottom left side of the window. Go to View Information on the top left side. Scroll down to Manage, and you will see Subscription with the number of the subscriptions you have subscribed to. Next, click Manage on the right side, it will forward you to the lists of applications you have purchased. Here, you can manage your active and inactive subscriptions.

If you are confused, here is how to access your subscriptions on your macOS step by step:

  • Go to your App Store
  • Sign in to your Apple account
  • Click on your profile at the bottom left side
  • Click on View Information on the top right side
  • Click Manage on the right side of Subscriptions
  • Change subscription plan: Go to the Options list, choose your plan, then click Done
  • Cancel the subscriptions: Open the app you want to cancel, click Cancel Subscription, Confirm the cancellation, and then click Done

How to Manage Your Subscription on your iOS Device

Managing your Apple account on an iOS device is even easier. There are two ways you can access your subscriptions; through the App Store on your iOS device and Settings.

Accessing through AppStore

First, go to the App Store on your iPhone or your iPad, then click on your profile picture on the top right side of your screen. Sign in to your Apple account if you haven’t already. If you are already signed in, it will bring you to your account details. Tap the Subscriptions menu, and there you will see all the applications you are subscribed to, and you can renew or cancel your subscriptions here.

  • Open App Store
  • Tap on your profile on the top right corner
  • Tap on Subscriptions
  • Change subscription plan: Go to the application, manage your plans
  • Cancel your subscription: Go to the app in Active, tap Cancel Subscription

Accessing through Settings

With the new update of iOS, now we can access Subscriptions via Settings. This method is much easier by going to Settings. Next, you will see your profile at the top of your screen. If you do not see your profile picture, you may have to sign in to your Apple account. Once you are signed in, see the Subscriptions menu. Tap on the menu and here you can manage your account.

  • Go to Settings on your device
  • Tap on your Apple ID profile or your name
  • Tap on the Subscriptions menu
  • Change subscription plan: Go to the application, manage your subscription plan
  • Cancel your subscription: Go to the app you want to cancel, tap Cancel Subscription

How to Manage Your Subscriptions on Your Apple Watch

Not only can you manage your subscriptions through your macOS or iPhone, but you can also manage them through your Apple Watch. It is simply done by opening the App Store on your Apple Watch. Scroll to your account and tap it. Next, tap Subscriptions, here you can manage or cancel your subscriptions. But, if you cannot see the Cancel Subscription option, your subscription has already been canceled and it will not renew.

I Cannot See the Cancel Option

If you tap on the application and you do not see a cancel subscription option, this is because you have already unsubscribed or canceled it. You can check the cancellation by looking at the application in the active section, if you see an expiration date then you are already unsubscribed. But, if it says Renew below the date, that means you are still subscribed to them.

I Cannot See the Application in the Subscriptions

The reason you can’t see the application you want to manage on the Active Subscriptions menu is that the subscription might be separated from your Apple account. For example, Netflix and Spotify are independently charging you through their own service, and not through the App Store. In this case, you can manage your subscriptions via their applications or official websites.

Another reason for not seeing the applications you want to manage is if you sign in with the wrong Apple ID. Make sure you sign in to the Apple ID you used to purchase the applications.

We hope this article will help you manage your App Store subscriptions easily and efficiently. If you don’t know which one you should get rid of, you should ask yourself which application is the most useful to your current lifestyle. Not only will your account be organized and suited to your needs, but you might save some money from all the subscriptions you rarely use.
